Today I just wanted to touch on something all of us girls (& fingers crossed theres a few guys still reading along) are guilty of: the good ole "oh, I don't remember where I got this" line. There are a few times when you will find yourself reaching for the name of the store you found those awesome boots at, but most of the time, you're avoiding spilling a secret haven of goodies, or you're afraid someone will "copy your style". I get it. I've been there. There's just something about having a special place to collect pieces from, or the allure of keeping some exclusivity to your style. But sharing a favorite store with a friend could help them find the scarf they've been looking for, or even give them a greater appreciation for your taste (and vice versa)! The fear of someone "stealing your style" is real, it's a legitimate fear. Your style is a very personal thing, it's a tangible, outward expression of who we are. It's one of the very first things that makes an impression when you meet someone and it's something most of us can instantly relate to. BUT 'your' style is also a melting pot of everyone you've ever met, everything you've ever seen, and anything you have drawn inspiration from. We are all constantly being inspired by other peoples style; its a collaboration.
So, is it okay to have a store you don't advertise? I suggest not deliberately hiding it. Also, when asking someone about an item of their clothing you're swooning over: IF you do go out and buy it (which is 100% okay), put your own spin on it. Style may be a collaboration over all, but it is individual as well, and people enjoy being set apart. Blatatly copying someone is taking away a piece of something they created. And not giving credit to the person who inspired you? A big no-no in my book.
Basically, don't be the girl who steals an outfit, but also don't be the one who locks away future favorite stores for others.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Whether or not I have a "special someone", I always feel overwhelmed with love on this day. Putting on a pretty little outfit, receiving and buying flowers, all while eating beautiful chocolates is a recipe for a good day in my book.
Here is a collection of pretty pictures from my day.
In honor of today being the number one date holiday, I wanted to throw on my baby pink valentine's day sweater and pair it with three different bottoms for date outfit inspiration!
outfit one ::
outfit three ::
sweater : vintage leather shorts : pac sun burgundy jeans : roxy white jeans : gap
Today's pictures were all taken by my sweet little valentine.
Tell someone you love them today xo
As for the forementioned exciting news, I just wanted to tease this new colaboration with one of my very best friends. We are launching an online boutique / small brand soon! I hope you guys will be as excited as we are and I can't wait for it to be up and running so you can start shopping! I'll keep you posted here with dates for the launch.

Fall is here and I couldn't be more excited. It's my favorite season, my birthday season, and the coziest season around. Given that I live in California, the beginning of our "fall" is still summer weather so I'm not bundled in sweaters yet.
I went to the cutest pumpkin patch and strolled around like a kid looking for the perfect pumpkin.
(white shorts :: free people white tank top :: gap off white sweater :: H&M)
Fast-foward to that afternoon, the pumpkin carving begins! An all white outfit is not condusive to pumpkin guts flying everywhere - plus, this vintage, fall patterened dress put me in the mood.
(dress :: vintage // in my perfectly dicheveled kitchen)

I just got back from an amazing get away to Hawaii. I explored different towns on the island of Maui, got lost in temples and took a roadtrip through the lush forests to end up on a black sand beach near Hana. I danced in rain, tried to climb (in flip flops..which I don't recommend) to waterfalls, surfed for the first time, and lived blithely one bottle of coconut oil to another. Needless to say, the trip was wonderful, and I collected countless pictures.
One of the more adventurous days was spent in a perfect pair of overalls ::
(all at the Capital of the Ancient Hawaiian Dynasty in Lahaina)
(exploring an old Catholic church)
(dragon fruit!)
(pit stop during the roadtrip :: local, homemade, vegan ice cream)
(black sand beach on the way to Hana)
(end of the day, barefoot, tom sawyer vibes)
overalls :: River Island
shoes :: white converse
sunglasses :: vintage (from a truck stop in texas)
headscarf :: thin knit scarf from Maui
There's a peek into my trip all over Maui and multiple pictures documenting how much I love overalls (and white converse).

I love traveling more than the next girl, but there is always one downside to it: packing. When you love clothes, and take pride in your style, packing is very hard because you're limiting yourself to whatever you take on your trip. I typically pick an outfit based on the mood I'm in that day, but when traveling you don't have that luxury. You're stuck with whatever you packed before you left for your adventure.
I'll admit, I have a tendency to overpack, it's something I've been working on. I am currently packing to film on location for three weeks, so I certainly picked a good time to start scaling back on what I pack.
rule number 01 of packing (and really the only key rule): Instead of packing a random assortment of your favorite things, or even packing outfits - pack a collection. A collection means they are all pieces that are able to mix-and-match to perfection. Start with building a foundational color pallet. I like to stick to neutrals (black, gray, white, creams & beige). I love having so many basic pieces because you can shuffle them all around for endless combinations.
After rounding up your basics, toss in a few non-neutrals to spice things up and you're on your way to a smart suitcase. (But let's be real...I'm sure I overpacked. I'm still learning!)
So I meantioned that I am going away for a few weeks to film my latest project (which you can keep up with here!). I'll be in Michigan, right on the lake so I'll have lots of beautiful pictures to share with you guys. Keep checking back!

Do you ever have those days when you just stand in the middle of your room, looking into your closet and your inner stylist is obviously taking the day off? Me too. Infact, I have these days more often than I'd like.
If you're having one of those days, here's some inspiration:
Black, white, and denim. You can't go wrong.

As a girl, falling in love with the "perfect pair" of shoes doesn't seem so out of the ordinary. I love shoes, but I'm very picky when it comes to declaring a pair 'perfect'. But these shoes...these are different. They ARE perfect (don't worry, I'm laughing at myself too. I'm such a girl). These shoes are at the top of my want list right now. I'm in love.
Maison Martin Margiela curved mule heels in black (here)
They are the perfect 'everyday heel'. Not too high to throw on for any casual occasion, but not so low that you might as well be wearing boots. NEED NEED NEED.
